On Highway 501 in Carolina Forest, a small plane landed around noon on Wednesday.

Traffic on Highway 501 was backed up in both directions as a result of the plane landing near Carolina Forest Boulevard.

A single-piston Diamond Star operated by LIFT Training Academy took off from Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) at 10:45 a.m. and landed at 12:10 p.m. on Highway 501.

ABC15 viewer Mike Roberts captured drone video of the plane sitting on the highway surrounded by emergency personnel. No injuries were reported.

The scene was attended by both the Horry County Fire Rescue Department and the Horry County Police Department.
