The Charleston Post And Courier reports today:  Ignoring Special Prosecutor, David Pascoe’s pleas for jail time, a judge sentenced former House Majority Leader Rick Quinn to two years of probation Monday morning on a misconduct charge, making him the latest figure in the Statehouse corruption probe to escape incarceration for his misdeeds in office.

Speaking of former Representative Rick Quinn, Judge Mullen stated, “Mr. Quinn has no criminal record. His political career is over. He’s been disgraced, and his family’s name has been destroyed.

THE BIG GET

Sources close to the probe have all informed MyrtleBeachSC.com that the Quinns were supposed to be Pascoe’s “Big Get”.  The expected testimony of Quinn Sr. had state officials most concerned.  Under the plea deal, Quinn’s father, 73-year-old influential political consultant Richard Quinn, agreed to testify before the State Grand Jury. Quinn Sr. has been given immunity.

With Rick Quinn Jr.’s statements today, however, it will be interesting to see how cooperative Richard Quinn Sr. will be in providing useful testimony on others who are involved in the probe.   Said Quinn Jr,  “I take accountability for that one act, but the rest of what he (Pascoe) says is a lie.”
