The Surfside Beach community mourn this week the sudden passing of Bartender Stephen Ordaz. Ordaz was a very popular Bartender at the Tavern in the Forest community bar and grill.

Ordaz was known for his infectious smile. The management of the tavern say his smile could light up any room.

Surfside Beach is a small family beach of approximately 3,000 residents. The town is famous for its row of oceanfront beach homes.

Ordaz was loved by tourists and locals alike.

On Facebook, The Tavern in the Forest wrote:

We are deeply saddened to announce that a member of our team at Tavern in Surfside, Stephen Ordaz, passed away unexpectedly yesterday. Stephen was a valued member of our team and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Stephen was a person who never met a stranger and had an infectious smile that could light up any room. He will always be remembered for his warm personality and charismatic nature.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of Stephen Ordaz at a celebration of life event next Monday from 4-7PM. This will be an opportunity for us to pay tribute to Stephen and to support his family during this difficult time.

We hope to see you there.
