On April 17th voters head to the poles in a run-off election that decides the future of what Surfside Beach will look like.
One of the key investors in a political action group, called Surfside Strong, is a member of the family that re-shaped Myrtle Beach over the past 40 years. Once known as a family beach town, the reputation of Myrtle Beach has seen decline under current leadership.
Surfside Strong supports Debbie Scoles in an attempt to remove height restrictions in the E District.
Myrtle Beach is well known for its over developed Oceanfront high-rises. The town is also known for its timeshares, prostitutes, gun violence, and drug dealers. The streets of Myrtle Beach are not safe to walk after 7 p.m.
Tim Courtney will continue a residents first, family friendly, small town charm that currently defines Surfside Beach’s world class reputation.
