People often underestimate just how important it is to clean the exterior of their home. Our home shields us from the elements and helps to keep pests out, so it makes sense to keep it clean and well-maintained. It can be faced with a lot of dirt and grime and depending on the materials used to build our home, it can face a lot of wear and tear over time.

So in this post, we’re going to talk about how you can clean the exterior of your home with ease to keep your home looking great.

Clean stains from your driveway

Your driveway may face a lot of staining and damage because it’s used on a regular basis. Driveways are typically made of concrete which is a porous material. This means that it’s prone to staining and can be affected by all kinds of substances.

One of the best ways to clean stains in your driveway is to rely on pressure washing services. These companies have high-powered pressure washers that are perfect for removing stubborn stains. They can also help you remove stains from other areas of your home if you’re looking for a complete service to help you clean the exterior of your home. Alternatively, you can buy your own pressure washer but they can be rather expensive.

Clear out your gutters

Our gutters can get clogged and dirty at times, so it’s important to manage them properly and give them a good clean every few months. They should be inspected at least once a year, but if there are bad weather conditions then they should be checked more frequently. This is because strong winds can often blow a lot of debris onto our roof which is then washed by rain into our gutters. This usually falls out of the system with ease, but if you combine it with heavy rain then it can often lead to blockages.

Keeping your gutters clean is relatively easy, but you may need to maintain them more often depending on weather conditions and how well your gutters are designed.

Give your windows a clean

Freshening your exterior includes washing your windows and giving them a good wipe down. Windows can get extremely dirty and will pick up a lot of dirt and grime over time. It’s usually a chore to clean windows, but if you invest in a telescopic window cleaner then you can easily reach higher windows from the ground floor. Just make you get one that is stable and can be extended far enough to reach all of the windows in your home.

Alternatively, you may need to climb onto your roof or balcony just to reach certain windows. This can be extremely dangerous so we recommend against it unless you have safety equipment or a ladder that can reach it from the ground. If you plan to climb a ladder up, then make sure you have someone holding it to support you from the ground.
