The undefeated Coastal Carolina Chanticleers survived a Saturday attempted comeback by the Temple Owls.
Opening the game, Christian Washington’s 15-yard run resulted in the Chants’ initial touchdown, followed by Temple Quarterback Evan Simon throwing an interception that Xamarion Gordon returned for a touchdown.
The Chants started with a 14 point lead in the first quarter.
Standouts for the undefeated Coastal team included Quarterback Ethan Vasko who ran for 92 yards on 16 carries and passed for 103 with one touchdown.

The Chanticleers gained 184 yards rushing, with Christian Washington adding 59 net yards on the ground. Undefeated Coastal did not turn the ball over.
The Owls have allowed almost 600 rushing yards in their initial three games.
Evan Simon of Temple University passed for a total of 185 yards, completing 17 throws. Dante Wright, a receiver for the Owls, caught 9 passes, accumulating 99 receiving yards.
Antwain Littleton II of the Owls led the rushing category, accumulating 74 yards on the field and a total of 108 all-purpose yards.
The Owls accumulated 129 rushing yards, surpassing their season total by 25 yards. Littleton II took the lead with 74 yards gained on the ground and a total of 108 all-purpose yards.
Coastal Carolina’s Vasko accumulated 92 rushing yards on 16 attempts and threw for 103 yards, resulting in one touchdown. The Chanticleers collectively achieved 184 rushing yards, while Washington contributed an additional 59 net rushing yards. Their possession of the ball remained intact throughout the game. The Owls, on the other hand, have allowed an alarming total of almost 600 rushing yards across their initial three matches.
The Undefeated Coastal team leads the SunBelt Conference East Division at 3 and 0. The Chants share that lead with James Madison University.
James Madison will be playing against the University of North Carolina from the ACC this upcoming Saturday, while undefeated Coastal will be competing against the Virginia Cavaliers, who have won two games and lost one.
