Columbia, S.C. (September 19, 2024)—Following a routine bridge inspection, SCDOT is implementing a single lane closure southbound on the US 501 bridges over the Little Pee Dee River near Galivants Ferry.
The outside travel lane is closed to allow crews to make emergency repairs to the bridge. Drivers traveling in the area should slow down and stay alert for crews working. Crews are currently performing additional inspection and assessment work on the bridge to develop an expedited plan for repairs. Community members are encouraged to visit the SCDOT website for updates. Drivers can plan their routes ahead of time by using SCDOT’s 511 SC app or by visiting 511sc.org.
