John Warren is running for Governor of South Carolina.  He faces Catherine Templeton and Henry McMaster in the June 12th primary.

Last night Warren held a campaign event at Market Common.  Afterwards, he fielded questions from the group.  His answers were straightforward, honest and showed a knowledge for the issues facing South Carolina.

Those we spoke with after the event said they were highly impressed.

John Warren, 38, is the founder and CEO of Lima One Capital, a specialty mortgage finance company. Currently lending in over forty states, the company has grown into one of the largest lenders for residential real estate investors and home-builders. Lima One has been recognized as the Fastest Growing Company in South Carolina, one of the Best Places to Work in SC, and the Most Ethical Company in SC. The company’s workforce is composed of over 80 full time employees and over 250 contract employees.

Prior to founding Lima One Capital, John served four years on active duty as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. In March of 2006, he deployed with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines to Ramadi, Iraq where he spent seven months conducting combat operations against insurgent forces. While deployed, he was decorated for “valor” and “heroic achievement” as he “led a counter attack against insurgents attacking Observation Post Virginia.” In total, he led over 300 combat missions and left the Marine Corps with the Rank of Captain. He speaks regularly on U.S. foreign policy, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Myrtle Beach resident, Michelle Cohen said, “Warren displayed leadership skills and a core knowledge about the issues currently challenging our state.  He was very impressive. I actually believe he can make a difference.”

As his name recognition grows, his integrity is clearly a leading character trait that resonates well with locals.  Warren entered the race later than his opponents.

However, more than half of those in attendance last night picked up yard signs to place on their front lawns.
