For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Wednesday is Christmas day. We celebrate Christmas as the birth of a savior and a king. He came into the world humbly. He walked in the highest authority.

This past week’s events in Horry County, and in D.C., highlight a centuries old narrative. From pharaoh to Nero to Adam Schiff to Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune rulers continue to love power but despise humility and accountability.

Governments established by man attract the unjust into corrupted, but well intended systems. Like a moth to a porch-light, the lawless seek power.

What one generation creates from a place of spiritual health, is high-jacked by the next generation of bureaucrats, liars, the greedy, and their colluded associates. Their self serving rules become the law of the land above true justice for all.

What already happened on Christmas Day 2000 years ago

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

The prayer of Jesus Christ concerning government: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. “

IF GOD SAYS WE HAVE THE ABILITY, HOW DO WE GET GOOD GOVERNMENT?

John 20:22 – And when Jesus had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” Speaking of this same Holy Spirit, the prophet Isaiah wrote: Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the waywalk in it.”

At our nation’s founding, voters, who once walked in self control and supernatural wisdom, largely chose leaders who also walked in self control and wisdom.

INSPIRATION: THE SPIRIT WITHIN US

OUTCOMES SHOW FEW LEADERS WALK OR HAVE EVER WALKED IN THE AUTHORITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

A dubious, self serving impeachment with no criminal facts, a demand from a small town mayor for a $7 million legal payment settlement, few leaders in America walk in the authority of God today. These leaders despise authority, yet hide behind the self serving laws they [themselves] created leveraging lawyers who quote that same law.

The lack of liberty, the lack of peace and the misery index for the average American multiplies daily.

FOUNDERS’ INTENT – “SELF CONTROLLED” RESIDENTS, ELECTING ACCOUNTABLE LEADERS

The Apostle Paul wrote: The fruit of the (Holy) Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Everyone is driven by something. Some are driven by a spirit of Power, others a spirit of Fear, yet others a spirit of Revenge, or a spirit of Pride. These spirits are not from God. These spirits do not produce peace nor do they produce lasting success.

In John 16, Jesus refers to the Spirit as a “Counselor” who will guide us in our everyday lives. One way he’ll guide us is by convicting us of sin. And this is really a good thing: God wants to help us get rid of the things that keep us from walking in Supernatural Authority, and the only way to identify those things is to be convicted by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works through our conscience to make us aware of sin in our lives.

In John 14, Jesus says the Holy Spirit will comfort us when we’re hurting. “I will not leave you as orphans,” Jesus says (14:18), promising that the Spirit will bring us peace (14:27).

Jesus said the Holy Spirit will help us recall the things we’ve learned about God (14:26)—which also means the Spirit will help us when we tell others about our faith.

THOSE WHO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. IDENTIFY OTHERS WALKING LIKEWISE

Americans. lead by the Holy Spirit, know the temperature of every room they enter. These same Americans change the temperature of every room they enter. Often, those other spirits in the room, that are not of God, feel threatened. Sometimes, these spirits act out publicly. These “other” spiritual demonstrations can run the gamete from calculated and clever manipulations to physical and emotional outbursts. Even when operating inside the highest levels of government, those spirits have NO real authority.

AUTHORITY EXPLAINED

There exists a wide gap between power and authority. Power comes with any government position. The authority of the Holy Spirit comes from within the surrendered person. People follow authority, not power.

Government works best when the person in power, also walks in authority.

CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG

At MyrtleBeachSC news, we cover local government systems, local leaders and local politicians. We do so to put sunlight on the area in the hope that, God’s will might be done in Horry County as it is in Heaven.

CHRIST BROUGHT HEAVEN TO EARTH

Christ literally brought Heaven to Earth. When he arose from the grave and transcended into Heaven, Christ sent the Holy Spirit to indwell us. Humans have since had the potential to walk in God’s authority for more than two centuries.

Merry Christmas. This Wednesday, we invite you to celebrate the fullness of all things Christmas and the supernatural opportunity his birth has given every human being to spiritually “die” [surrender] into.
