Coastal Carolina fans witnessed a wild weekend. First, the Chants fell to Troy in the Sunbelt Conference Championship. Just like the previous weekend’s event with James Madison, the game was a stunning blow out. Players appeared disheveled under rumors that Head Coach Jamey Chadwell would be leaving for Liberty University.

On Sunday, Chadwell announced he had been hired by Liberty University. He formerly accepted the position as Head Coach for the Liberty Flames.

This news was quickly followed by CCU announcing its new Head Coach, NC State Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck, had been hired.

Late Sunday night, students and fans learned CCU accepted an invitation to play in the Birmingham Bowl against East Carolina on December 27th.

This will be Coastal Carolina’s league leading star quarterback, Grayson McCall’s final game. The game will air on ESPN.

Perhaps the Chants can turn the ship around, now that the dust has settled in all directions.
