MyrtleBeachSC News was saddened to learn this afternoon that Shaeed Woodard and Zindell Brown, (of Myrtle Beach), were found dead, as reported by government officials of Mexico.
Their bodies should be turned over to the US government after an autopsy, the Mexican government reports.
Upon learning the news, U.S. 7th District Congressman Russell Fry tweeted the following:
It is heartbreaking to hear about the tragic killing of two of the four Americans abducted in Mexico. I want to share my deepest condolences with the victims’ family members and loved ones as they grieve.

Zalandria Brown of Florence, South Carolina, told the USA Today that her younger brother, Zindell Brown of Myrtle Beach, was among the four who were caught up in a cross fire between rival cartels.
The four traveled to Matamoros so that one member could undergo a medical tourism tummy tuck.
The area is famous for medical tourism as many of the procedures are cheaper than those found in the U.S. Latavia “Tay” McGee, Shaeed Woodard, Zindell Brown and Eric James Williams were the four US citizens kidnapped in Mexico.
The mother of “Tay” McGee says she is now safely back in the United States and that she is currently in Texas.
Unfortunately America lost Zindell Brown and Shaeed Woodard in what can only be called a senseless act of violence embodied by the greed of the Mexican cartels.
The cartels continue to be a major problem on both sides of the Mexican and American border.
The Biden administration says that they are looking into the matter. Matamoros, Mexico is at a Level 4 “do not travel” advisory for American citizens.
