Deerfield residents have been at odds with Horry County and H.O.A. groups concerning the road closure.

As we last reported, a group of 80 or more residents left a July meeting. Several then went out and physically removed the recently placed barricade from the road.

The road is now open for through traffic, but the situation remains fluid.

Residents are asking Horry County Councilman Gary Loftus to assist them in having the county assume access roads in Deerfield, especially Colony Drive.
