The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is fortunate to have two leading candidates running for U.S. 7th Congressional District.
Last night, The City of Florence hosted the first of the Televised debates. WMBFnews had exclusive T.V. coverage.
Candidates included: Ken Richardson, Russell Fry, Tom Rice, Garrett Barton, and Barbara Arthur.
While all 5 candidates had their moments, MyrtleBeachSC News will be curious to see which of MBACC’s two favorite candidates the $51 million annually tax funded “not for profit” political powerhouse will now prefer.
Candidate Ken Richardson went after both candidates about their inability to find the funding for Rice and Fry’s number one agenda item. Richardson asked each why they could not deliver (for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber)? Rice largely ducked the answer, putting it off on the state.
Fry, instead of answering the question, attacked Richardson about Horry County Schools. FYI – Horry County Schools are among the top producing schools in S.C. with a rating of A-.
IS FRY A MAGA POSER, AS RICE CLAIMS?
Rice then insinuated Fry was a MAGA poser who would say anything to get elected. Rice correctly pointed out Fry’s 58% conservative lifetime voting record. Rice stated Fry was 8 percentage points away from being a Democrat.
TRUMP IMPEACHMENT
Fry’s biggest win was his attack on Rice for impeaching Trump. However, every candidate not named Rice scored huge points on the same issue.
FRY’S ABSENTEE VOTES AT THE STATE HOUSE.
We fact checked Rice here once again. Fry’s voting record does show he missed over 107 key votes.
Fry stated it was because of conflicts of interest that he needed to avoid voting on. We looked over the list. We rate Fry’s statement as a huge Pinocchio. Put simple, Fry lied.
