The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office has confirmed that charges will not be pursued in the fatal shooting in the Longs area.

The Attorney General‘s office announced that former U.S. Army Infantry Sergeant,  Weldon Boyd will not face charges in the death of Scott Spivey, as there is inadequate evidence linking him to the incident that occurred in September on Camp Swamp Road and Highway 9.

According to the incident report, police officers talked to the driver of a white Dodge truck on site, but the driver’s name is not provided in the report. The driver stated that the individual driving the black truck, Spivey, got out of the truck and began firing shots at Boyd and others.

The man told police, Weldon Boyd then fired back saving, not only his life, but those in the area.
