The sea is a wonderful, magical and mysterious place. Some people find being around it is really calming and can help reduce anxiety whereas some people will find that it actually causes anxiety and fear as they are scared of the ocean and what it holds. This could be due to the fact that we have only discovered 5% of the ocean so it is still a huge mystery to the human race. There is so much we don’t know about it and some of the stuff we know and some of the animals we have discovered are truly scary.

So many people work and live around the sea and the seaside and there are certainly some benefits to this but there are also some disadvantages so it’s up to you to decide on which means more to you and which you can deal with. Can you deal with the disadvantages because the benefits are so fabulous or do the benefits not give you enough to forget about any negatives.

One of the benefits of living and working by the sea is that you get to embrace nature and see a lot of animals and a lot of different things a lot of people don’t get to see unless they visit or look it up online. So if you are a nature lover it is perfect for you. You can go for a morning stroll down by the sea and could end up seeing all sorts of different wildlife in their natural habitats before most people have even got out of bed. You may also end up witnessing rare events like turtle babies being born and making their huge and dangerous first journey to the sea. Something you will certainly never forget. If you eat seafood, then it is also a big advantage for you. You will always get the freshest of the fresh for your meals. A lot of people who live away from the coast have to go for frozen fish or fresh fish which has been travelling for days. It’s just not as good as you can have it straight from the ocean as fresh as can be.

One of the disadvantages of living and working around the ocean is that the weather conditions can sometimes be a lot worse for you. When it rains or storms it can exacerbate waves and turn into horrible things like weather disasters, flooding everywhere in extreme cases which are disastrous. Although they can be rare occurrences it is something to think about. Another thing to think about which could be of detriment to you if you work and live around the ocean is the higher risk factors of the jobs and careers. Dockworkers, Fishermen and any sea worker can have a high risk in dangerous accidents that can affect them. Accidents can be a lot more severe as well so if you do ever have an accident you want to make sure that you have a good Maritime accident attorney.
