UPDATE: One person is now dead after a shooting in Myrtle Beach Wednesday morning, the day before Thanksgiving, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Dept.
Myrtle Beach Police are investigating a shooting at Ocean Crest Wednesday morning, the day before Thanksgiving.
Police tell MyrtleBeachSC News that officers responded to the Ocean Crest Inn and Suites at 6th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard just after 2 a.m.
Two people were sent to Grand Strand Hospital with injuries. One person later died.
Also, a building on Mitchell Drive has some damage as a result of the same incident. Mitchell Drive is about a block from the hotel.
The downtown area of 6th Avenue South in the City of Myrtle Beach is a well known high crime area, even in the off season.
