Are you in the process of selling your home? If so, then here is a helpful guide to make the process as painless as possible. Selling a home can be difficult especially if the housing market isn’t particularly thriving. Before you list your home for sale, here are a few major things that need to be sorted. Check out below to find out what those three tasks are.

Throw Stuff Out

Before you can open your home up to potential buyers you need to ensure that your home is ready for them. This means that all your clutter has got to go, or at the very least be sorted out and put away. When people come to look around your home they like to envision their own belongings filling the space. This can be extremely difficult to do if your items are all over the place. You are trying to sell your home to them so making it as appealing as possible will get more interest.

If your home is in probate, check to make sure if you can you sell your home during probate.

A great way to declutter is to go through each room and sort your items into at least three piles. These include the items you wish to keep, the ones you want to throw away, and treasures you no longer need but are okay to sell on to other people. Having a yard sale or garage sale will boost funds for the move.

Clean It Up

Once you have decluttered, the next step is to thoroughly clean your property. Nobody wants to come and look around a dirty grimy home. Take some time with this one and really ensure that everywhere has been cleaned. You want your home to be sparkling before people come to look around. Before you have an open house or viewings your real estate agent will either take pictures of your property or get a professional in to do it. You want your home to look its best so the character shines through in the photos.

Places to ensure are looking spick and span are the brighter places such as the kitchen and bathroom. When these rooms are dirty it can be extremely noticeable. If you are not sure how to go about deep cleaning your home then you could call in the help of professionals. Using a cleaning company will ensure that your home gets cleaned as good and proper as it deserves.

Repairs

One final thing to take note of is that people rarely want to move into a fixer-upper, especially families. They want to move into a home that requires very minimal or zero repairs. You need to go through your home with a fine-tooth comb and ensure all repairs have been carried out beforehand. If you are moving out soonish then you could even go as far as filling in the holes in the walls where your photos or decorations once were.

One thing to make sure hasn’t caused any significant problems is the roof. Always check your roof regularly for damage as it can happen really fast, especially if you are in a high-risk area associated with freak weather. If your roof has sprung a leak then your property could take water damage to the ceilings, walls, and floors. If this has happened then you need to call in someone like moport restoration company to dry the place out and remove any mold that has formed.
