Wilkes-Barre / Scranton International Airport will soon offer flights to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Breeze Airways and Scranton International Airport officials announced Wednesday morning that nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach will begin taking off from Scranton on Thursdays and Sundays starting June 20, 2024.

AVP has been looking forward to the return of nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, and we are pleased that Breeze Airways will offer this service in northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Carl R. Beardsley, Jr., AVP Executive Director.

“We’ve seen great demand from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, as shown by our expansion of our Orlando service and this new flight to Myrtle Beach,” said Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey.

Flights will be available for $49 one way if purchased by April 30 for travel by January 7, 2025.

Flight schedule for Myrtle Beach:

AVP to MYR Wilkes-Barre/Scranton:

(Thursdays & Sundays) Depart AVP at 4:55 PM; arrive MYR at 6:40 PM

To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AVP) from Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR):

Arrive AVP at 4:20 PM (Thursdays & Sundays) after departing MYR at 2:30 PM

AVP announced a new partnership with Breeze Airways in November last year to bring back direct flights between Orlando and AVP.

Despite Allegiant Airlines pulling out of the Scranton airport in 2018, airport officials say these new flights fill a need.

In May, the airline plans to offer flights four days a week instead of Wednesdays and Saturdays.
