Officials with the South Carolina Department of Transportation announced today that the Socastee Swing Bridge is open to traffic ahead of schedule following emergency repairs after a collision with the structure.

The bridge was closed June 12 following a collision. The collision caused major damage to the bridge, including a section of the support structure.

The bridge is now open to both vehicular and marine traffic. SCDOT appreciates the patience from our community members while this critical work was completed.
