Conway Mayor wins 3rd term

Conway’s mayor will remain Barbara Blain-Bellamy. The mayor swamped challenger Ken Richardson in what has been record early voting for the city seat.

With almost 1,000 early voters, this was the highest early voter numbers in Conway city history. Those early voting numbers dwarfed all other early voters in every other Horry County municipality including Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and North Myrtle Beach.

Against former Horry County Schools Chairman Ken Richardson, Blain-Bellamy won with 2,025 votes.

She will be serving her third term as mayor.

Blain-Bellamy discussed her liberal and progressive ideas for approaching growth, along with, the growing homeless population in the city during a debate hosted by CCU with Richardson.
