All town council incumbents for Surfside Beach City Council were voted out in a change election.

Surfside Beach has a new mayor after Mayor Bob Hellyer decided not to run for re-election.

With 550 votes, former Surfside Beach Pier Committee president Rob Krouse won the election.

Cindy Keating received 123 votes, while David Pellegrino received 456.

Krouse said he’s against big government and wants the town to be able to utilize the pier as a revenue source.

There will be three new members on the town council in a complete Surfside Beach change election.
