After a disappointing end to their season, Coastal Carolina will be heading to the Hawai’i Bowl later this month.

This will be Coastal Carolina’s fourth bowl game ever.

Head Coach Tim Beck started the season poorly and the team finished poorly as well. CCU was out muscled by Army. The team was then plummeted by James Madison the following week. The loss to JMU cost Coastal Carolina any opportunity they had to play in this week’s Sun Belt Conference Championship game.

After the regular season ended, star Quarterback Grayson McCall chose to enter the transfer portal.

Despite their poor season, on Dec. 23, the Chanticleers will play San Jose State in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl. This will be a chance for Beck to re-establish a winning moment, and salvage his first year season as Head Coach.

Tim Beck expressed his excitement for the final game of the season.

We’re very excited about the opportunity for our seniors to play one game and we couldn’t be more excited to go to Hawai’i and play in the Hawai’i Bowl against a really good San Jose State football team,” said Beck.

ESPN will broadcast the game starting at 10:30 p.m.

Under first-year head coach Tim Beck, the Chants finished 7-5. The Spartans also finished 7-5 and are headed to a bowl game.
