Nearly 1,000 people were evacuated from the Captain Quarters hotel, and some were taken to other hotels, according to the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.
The resort is still working on where all the guests will stay, a hotel employee said.
In order to retrieve their belongings, guests were sent back to the Captain’s Quarters Resort by floor.
The fire began at the resort’s bowling alley, Evans said.
According to MBFD, no guests were injured, but three firefighters were treated for dehydration.
In order to stay safe, another resort guest who is visiting from Pennsylvania with 15 members of her family went to the beach.
City officials will have to declare when the building can be reopened, Evans said.

FIRE STARTED IN BOWLING ALLEY
With so many rooms at their disposal, the Captain Quarters resort property management company had multiple options for relocation.
One of the standout amenities, however, at Captain Quarters is the rooftop pool. The property has a host of amenities, one of which was the popular bowling alley. According the MBFD, this is where the fire started.
The Captains Quarters also has a fully equipped fitness center on-site.
The hotel also features an on-site restaurant.
Another key feature is the hotel’s spa facility. The hotel’s advertising boasts: Treat yourself to a relaxing massage or facial treatment that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
Other amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, 24-hour room service for late-night cravings, laundry services for added convenience, and valet parking for stress-free arrival and departure.
It is unclear where all of the guests were re-located. It is also unclear if guests were reimbursed, if they were relocated to a resort lacking these featured amenities.
