According to Myrtle Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Vest, a person shot early Thursday morning at a Myrtle Beach motel located at 1201 South Ocean Boulevard has died.
The shooting happened at the Waterpark Motel.
According to officials at One Grand Strand, crime is six times higher in the city of Myrtle Beach than any other city in South Carolina.
Myrtle Beach police are now investigating the shooting as a homicide (murder), Vest said.
The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. early Thursday morning. The murder is under investigation by the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
MBPD stated that there would be an increased police presence in the area throughout Thursday as police continue to investigate.
