On Monday, Horry County Police responded to the Tanger Outlets on Kings Road in Myrtle Beach regarding a shoplifting and assault, smash and grab incident.

According to a police report, there were 3 people who entered the store and stole $778 worth of charms called “jibbitz” and 33 pairs of footwear worth $2,104.

Authorities have not released the name of the one person arrested on charges of shoplifting and simple assault. The other two people are being sought by the Horry County police for being involved in stealing the almost $3000 worth of merchandise.

This is not the first time a smash and grab type of theft has happened for a Tanger Outlets in our area. Several months ago, the Coach store in the Tanger Outlets on Highway 501 was robbed by two women of merchandise worth over $2000.

Other smash and grab type robberies have been reported at other Tanger Outlets around the country in the last few years. Just last November, a man and woman entered a Michael Kors store at the Tanger Outlets in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville, TN and according to the Metro Nashville Police carried out jackets and bags worth thousands of dollars.
