Horry County SC Senator Luke Rankin’s summary judgement request denied.

Local businessman John Gallman sued Horry County SC Senator Luke Rankin and others for defaming him during the 2020 Republican primary campaign for District 33 (Horry County).
Senator Rankin and his campaign management company filed for summary judgement alleging that Mr. Gallman’s lawsuit was without merit and should be dismissed before a jury could hear the evidence and decide the facts.
Earlier this week, the Honorable Judge Deadra L. Jefferson denied those motions, allowing the case to proceed to trial.
This was a huge win for Mr. Gallman.
