The moments immediately after a car accident can be extremely traumatic. You might be shocked, terrified and even injured. Yet staying calm is vital to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of you and your customers. Just know that there will be support to help guide you through recoveries, such as nurses and lawyers like Dennis Hernandez. Experts in their field will support you every step of the way. It is just your job to stay calm at the moment until they come to the rescue.
Here are some essential steps you can take to take control of your emotions at an extremely stressful time.

Take Deep Breaths

Breathe deeply, in through your nose and out of your mouth. Count each breath and focus on breathing for a few minutes. This will help you center and gather your thoughts.

Don’t Race Out Of The Car

Unless it is an extreme emergency, spend a few minutes in your vehicle and assess the situation. Are you injured? Is anyone in the car injured? Take stock before you race out of your vehicle, as you might be surrounded by oncoming traffic.

Drive To A Safe Area

If possible, drive your car to the side of the road, and out of the path of oncoming traffic. Once you have reached the safe area, check on your passengers and get out of the vehicle if it is safe to do so.

Check Other People

If there are other passengers or drivers involved in the accident, make sure they are not injured and out of the way of oncoming traffic or other dangers.
