Ian Aftermath: Crews Respond to Garden City Point House Fires

The Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District responded to the scene of a fire in Garden City late last night.

The fire broke out in the area of South Waccamaw Drive. Horry County Fire Rescue is also on scene.

The fire came in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian leaving the Garden City area.

The Grand Strand was hit by the category one hurricane on Sept. 30th. The hurricane brought the 3rd highest storm surge in the history of our area. The storm made landfall in Georgetown, S.C. which is just a 30 minute drive from Garden City beach.

Murrells Inlet resident, Stephanie Griffin Sorensen captured the below and posted it on Facebook.

One or more homes were damaged by the fire.
