The numbers from Coastal Carolina’s Brittain Resort For Tourism Center are not in yet, however, early indications show that June 2021 was the best June for tourism ever.

After last year’s pandemic, Americans were ready to travel. With the new vaccine requirements, domestic travel was their best option.

Realizing this, Myrtle Beach Hotels more than doubled their rates from 2020. The average price of an Oceanfront Condo in June 2021 was $444 per night.

Prices Double Over 2020 Rates

2020 was historically one of the worst years for Grand Strand tourism. Room rates were down. Business was down 42%.

The average Myrtle Beach vacation stay in 2021 was approximately 3 nights.

More 7 night rental tourists chose to stay in June 2021.

Longer stay rentals and higher occupancy, coupled with increased rates, boosted June 2021 to the most successful June for tourism in the history of area.
