The New York Post reported Wednesday that George Soros is preparing to purchase a large stake in Audacy, America’s second-largest radio company with more than 220 stations nationwide.
As reported by The Post, Soros Fund Management bought $400 million of Audacy debt. The radio giant filed for bankruptcy protection in January with close to $2 billion in debt.
Scoring 14 White House meetings in a little over a year suggests the younger Soros’ son has “an outsize policy influence in the Biden administration” rivaling the easy access only a select few as American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten has, said Tom Fitton, president of the conservative legal watchdog group Judicial Watch. George Soros’ son took over the organization in 2017.
George Soros is pursuing an “aggressive environmental agenda,” open-border initiatives, and other far-left causes dear to him, Fitton added.
An “insider” speculated that Soros may be buying the stake to exert a greater influence before the November election.
In the recent weeks, Soros “scooped up the Audacy debt” and paid roughly “50 cents on the dollar” from HG Vora, according to sources speaking to the Post. In the wake of reports of the acquisition, Audacy confirmed the investment, the Post reported.
Houston federal court will hear the debt restructuring case on Feb. 20.
