On a cold January 2nd day, candidate Tim McGinnis won the Horry County District 56  election with approximately 300 votes.

This is perhaps the lowest turnout in any state-wide elected seat in the history of Horry County, perhaps the state.

McGinnis is a former news anchor at WPDE TV ABC 15.  He ran unopposed.

Approximately 300 people out of 40,000 voted in the election.  Official results will be tallied next week.  .0075 percent of the population voted.
