The Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon is this weekend.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department reminds all tourists and locals to expect road closures.

The Mini Marathon is a 13.1 miles run that begins Sunday,  October 17th at 7 a.m.

Coastal 5K & GoRuck

On Saturday, October 16th, runners will compete in the Coastal 5K and GoRuck. The 5K is 3.1 miles long.

This amazing half marathon race is a South Carolina Dream! This surfing themed half marathon, with its surfboard finisher medals, surf style bands and awesome post race beach party is the new MUST do race on the Atlantic Coast. Our awesome course features over 5 miles of oceanfront running! After the event, pull up your beach chair and relax at Plyler Park by the main stage enjoying the post event live entertainment….maybe even take a swim in the warm waves. Why not, it’s Myrtle Beach, come run and have an awesome time!

NEW for 2021, we will be introducing a Rucking division for the 5K and Half Marathon distance. This is an official https://goruck.com race. Learn more about it at https://www.goruck.com/rucking-101. All participants will receive a GORUCK patch and the top 3 male and female participants will get an award!

The requirements: Wear a Ruck/backpack with the standard weight-10# for participants 150 lbs. and under, and 20# for those over 150 lbs. Your ruck will be weighed at the beginning of the race. No participants will be weighed, weight requirements are on the honor system. Most females carry 10# and most males carry 20#. Weighted vests are NOT permitted unless you have the GORUCK Ruck Plate Carrier. That will be accepted. You must wear a backpack with the weight on your back at all times during the race. GoRuck participants must complete the half marathon in 3.5 hours or less.

Runners and walkers are welcome along with strollers.  No dogs allowed on course. The half marathon time limit is 3.5 hours/16 minute mile pace.

Pacing Team: Each pace group will be led by 1-2 experienced pacers who will run as close to even splits as possible during the race to ensure finishing within a minute of the goal time. Pacers will line up about 15 minutes prior to the race start and have a designated sign indicating the goal time.
