On Saturday, a North Myrtle Beach bicyclist collided with a car on Highway 17 at 33rd Avenue in North Myrtle Beach, resulting in fatal injuries.

The cyclist has been identified as Lisa Lacroix, 41, by Horry County Coroner Tamara Willard.

In police reports, Lacroix was riding her bike westbound on 33rd Avenue when she was struck by Kenneth McLaurin’s gold Cadillac DTS.

McLaurin failed to yield the right of way to Lacroix, according to the report.

During the accident, the North Myrtle Beach Bicyclist was thrown from her bike over the handlebars and hit the windshield of McLaurin’s vehicle.

Multiple traumatic injuries caused Lacroix’s death at Grand Strand Medical Center.

According to North Myrtle Beach police, “no negligence or egregious traffic violations caused the collision.”

In spite of this, McLaurin was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
