The Surfside Beach location is owned by Grady Dwiggins.

We are feeling great. We are really excited. We’ve been in this process for a while and we were hoping this would be the outcome, so it feels great to finally be here and be ready for the pier to be built out and open,” said Painters Ice Cream owner, Owner Grady Dwiggins.

Painters Ice Cream is one of the most popular creameries on the Grand Strand.

The Surfside Beach pier is the town’s featured attraction.

Surfside Beach is known as the “family beach”. The motif and ambience of the ice cream shop is a perfect fit for the “All American” families and campers who visit the town annually.

In June 2022, Southern Living named Surfside Beach the “Ultimate Destination for Families”.

Writes Southern Living: Pegged as “The Family Beach,” Surfside certainly lives up to its name. With two miles of pristine coastline that are cleaned daily and monitored by lifeguards to keep everyone safe, you can feel comfortable bringing the whole crew for a day of family fun.

Famous for its oceanfront beach homes, Surfside Beach limits high-rise development in the town. Larger families love the look and feel of the beach town and prefer the privacy of having their own exclusive vacation residence.
