Painters Ice Cream will soon find a new home on the Surfside Beach pier. The pier is scheduled to open Spring 2023.
The first Painters Ice Cream was founded in 1952 in the City of North Myrtle Beach.
The Surfside Beach location is owned by Grady Dwiggins.
“We are feeling great. We are really excited. We’ve been in this process for a while and we were hoping this would be the outcome, so it feels great to finally be here and be ready for the pier to be built out and open,” said Painters Ice Cream owner, Owner Grady Dwiggins.
Painters Ice Cream is one of the most popular creameries on the Grand Strand.
The Surfside Beach pier is the town’s featured attraction.
Surfside Beach is known as the “family beach”. The motif and ambience of the ice cream shop is a perfect fit for the “All American” families and campers who visit the town annually.
In June 2022, Southern Living named Surfside Beach the “Ultimate Destination for Families”.
