In a plot that continues to be stranger than fiction, the Myrtle Beach Police Department confirms that Tawny Antle, the daughter of Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, owner of Myrtle Beach Safari, was arrested on Sunday for unlawful carrying of a pistol.

The vehicle she was in was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Acline Avenue and Crimson Street because it matched the description of a car from a report of gunshots, according to Myrtle Beach Police Dept. Master Cpl. Tom Vest.

MBPD immediately located the gun when the car was pulled over.

The warrants said that Antle does not have a concealed weapons permit.

Derek Frost, 30, who was the driver of the vehicle Antle was in, is charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol. Police found the gun in the side door panel when Frost got out of the vehicle, according to arrest warrants. Frost also does not have a concealed weapons permit, the warrants read.

Doc Antle was one of three primary figures in the Netflix series, “Tiger King.” Joseph “Joe Exotic” Maldonado-Passage is in prison for his role in a murder-for-hire plot against the show’s third main character, Carole Baskin, who recently appeared on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” She continues to face heat over the 1997 disappearance of her former husband Don Lewis but maintains her innocence in the case.
