Police have reported a fatal Myrtle Beach area shooting overnight near Highway 17 Bypass.

The Horry County Police responded to a shooting about 2:30 a.m. near the 4000 block of Highway 17 Bypass, according to spokesperson Mikayla Moskov.

As there are several businesses in that area, it’s unclear where the shooting took place.

One of the injured people has died, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. The name of the victim has not been released.

Injuries to the other person were not life-threatening.

Additional details are not available at this time as the police are still investigating details about this Myrtle Beach area shooting.

The offseason in Myrtle Beach begins in late September. However, shootings and murders no longer appear to have an offseason in the area.
