The location of the recently announced Jimmy Buffett Myrtle Beach Margaritaville Resort can now be made public.
The Jimmy Buffett resort hotel will be built oceanfront on 17th Avenue North in downtown Myrtle Beach.
The developers of the resort are a group out of Texas who plan to use the Margaritaville franchise name.
The group has asked the city to permit a walk-over to a high rise parking lot that they also intend to build just across ocean boulevard. The empty parking lot can be seen in the picture above behind Ocean Boulevard and directly west of the oceanfront resort.
The resort will be a major upgrade to this area.
The property will be located beside the newly purchased Sand Castle Resort. Springboard Hospitality group announced last Fall 2022 that two Sand Castle Myrtle Beach hotels joined the Springboard Hospitality management portfolio after being acquired by a California real estate investment trust.
Speculations about a Margaritaville Resort hotel coming to Myrtle Beach have been ongoing for almost a decade.
The Margaritaville group is also building a North Myrtle Beach Margaritaville as well. The scheduled launch for the North Myrtle Beach project is April, with the hotel opening in 2025.
The Myrtle Beach Resort property does not have a scheduled opening date as of this publication.
