Is Carolina Forest now the heart of all things central Grand Strand? Most locals think so.

My wife and I kept hearing great reviews about a new and authentic Italian deli and bakery which just opened in Carolina Forest called la Dolci Mania.

We decided to give it a try during lunch hour.

I had “The Big Italy”

The owner Salvo Giudice and his assistant Sunny greeted us at the front counter. Salvo is an Italian’s Italian. His mother and son both live in Italy. The mother is a great cook. Salvo’s son is going to culinary school. Food and fellowship runs in the family.

The restaurant has been open less than a month, however, in the short time we were there, a series of local-now regular customers came to visit and purchase lunch, breads, deserts, cannoli cheese ricottas, and also almond cookies. Most knew Salvo by name.

Salvo opened the restaurant preparing for his son, who was born in Georgetown, S.C., to run once he finishes culinary school in Italy.

la Dolci Mania is located just South of Ollies off Carolina Forest Boulevard

“la Dolci Mania” is a delicious, authentic, family friendly restaurant located in Carolina Forest.

Carolina Forest is a welcoming community worth celebrating along our Myrtle Beach coast.
