Myrtle Beach area photographer Gene Ho announced today the re-launching of John F. Kennedy Jr.’s George magazine.

John F. Kennedy Jr. launched the magazine in 1995 and it ran until 2001. Per Wikipedia, George was a glossy monthly magazine centered on the theme of politics-as-lifestyle founded by John F. Kennedy Jr. and Michael J. Berman with publisher Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. in New York City in September 1995. Its tagline was “Not Just Politics As Usual.” It was published from 1995 to 2001.

Tragically, JFK Jr. and his wife died in a plane crash on July 16, 1999. Kennedy was piloting the plane at the time.

Writes Ho:

If you’re not familiar with George, it was a political magazine created in the mid-1990s by John Kennedy Jr. to bring pop culture and politics together. He wanted to educate Americans on the political process using entertainment, art, and top experts. Best of all, it was non-partisan and it sought to bring Americans together. It was genius.

Now more than ever, our country needs George. We need to come together as Americans, to share the truth of what has been going on. Times have changed a lot since 1995, but the message is still relevant. Our goal is to continue John Kennedy Jr.’s vision for George in bringing Americans back together through truth, whether democrat or republican, conservative, or liberal.

Thank you for being a valued supporter of mine through the years, I cannot tell you how much it means to me! I hope you come and check us out at George.
