At a Friday press conference, S.C. Governor Henry McMaster stated he would allow S.C. restaurants to resume indoor dining this Monday, May 11th.

The governor said he’s starting Phase 2 of reopening restaurants.

The new mandate allows indoor dining at bars and restaurants, but only at a 50% occupancy of the number of people allowed in each establishment.

Social distancing will be required and there are extensive regulations regarding how restaurants operate, the governor said.

The order allowing police officers to arrest people who pose a public health threat in groups of three or more still stands, the governor said.

McMaster said he hoped to address reopening close-contact businesses on Monday. Those businesses include hair salons, barbershops, gyms and similar places.
