At 12:22 p.m., yesterday, Horry County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to a reported service call on Juniper Drive in Conway.

A kitten had taken up temporary residence in the engine compartment of a vehicle.

Firefighter/EMT Thompson, seen here, and Firefighter/EMT Ayers teamed up—donning gloves for protection from mini-claws and mini-teeth—to carefully remove the little cat from its place of rest before it scurried into the nearby woods, uninjured.

Horry County Fire Rescue crews responds however they are needed, always to help our residents and guests…and sometimes stray cats. Here is the post they made public on Facebook.

Great job, team!
