Emergency personnel from Horry County are currently present at a significant fire occurring in the Carolina Forest region. The Carolina Forest fire started in a condo complex in the area.
Horry County Fire Rescue was contacted for assistance at the 400 block of White River Drive around 10:40 a.m. A second alarm was issued to bring in more resources.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., HCFR announced that there were no injuries and that the fire had been brought under control. Three units experienced significant fire damage, while six others were affected by smoke and water damage.
The heat from the fire caused damage to two buildings in close proximity.
Those who have been forced to leave their homes are receiving support from the American Red Cross.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department, Horry County Police Department, and South Carolina Highway Patrol were all present at the scene. It is advised for drivers to steer clear of the area.
