A 32-year-old Loris man was arrested for allegedly beating to death his girlfriend’s dog and threatening her.

According to Lt. Larry Williams, Michael Griffin was arrested about 11 a.m. Monday. Police had asked the public for help in finding Griffin last week.

The Loris Police Department posted on Facebook that Griffin had threatened his girlfriend after he violently beat her dog repeatedly on concrete, killing it. He was wanted for second degree domestic violence and cruelty to animals.

Griffin was found at home by police, Williams said.
