Carla Schuessler, the former Head of the Board of Directors for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber, has decided to run for the newly created S.C. House District 61.

Redistricting by the South Carolina House Redistricting Committee moved House District 61 from southern and eastern Florence County and western Marion County to the Forestbrook/Conway area in Horry County.
The redistricting effort was headed by MBACC insider, Horry County Senator Luke Rankin.

With Heather Ammons Crawford, Case Brittain, Luke Rankin, Stephen Goldfinch, and former House Whip Russell Fry (now running for U.S. 7th Congressional), a Schuessler win will continue the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s dominance in Horry County politics.
