According to an incident report filed today, the Horry County Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened outside of Klocker’s Bar early this morning.

Klocker’s Tavern is located on 4807 US Highway 17 Bypass South in Myrtle Beach.

Horry County police reported a large fight on the property. One person shot at the tavern was sent to Grand Strand Hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound, the report said. The victim is expected to fully recover.

KLOCKER’S HISTORY

Klocker’s Tavern has a reputation for bar fights in the Myrtle Beach area.

Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson asked a judge for a court order to have the bar closed in 2018. In his complaint, Richardson cited multiple reports of fighting, assaults and public intoxication.

A two-year agreement between Horry County prosecutors and Klocker’s allowed the tavern to continue to operate.

Horry County demanded the bar install a security system and also brighten the parking lot with new lighting. These arrangements allowed the bar to remain open and was apart of the owner/county agreement.

Today’s shooting could perhaps once again put the tavern on the county’s nuisance business list.
