Speaking in Myrtle Beach last night, Solicitor David Pascoe (D), Orangeburg said that it was time for S.C. to join practically every state in the union and elect our judges.
Pascoe is famous for his indictments against political consultants Richard Quinn Sr. and Rick Quinn Jr.. His ongoing run in with “Legislative Lawyer selected” Judge Carmen Mullen is the stuff of legend. Judge Mullen, hand picked by Luke Rankin and the Judicial Merit Selection Committee, worked a full court press to block and tackle for the Quinns, whose political consultant group works for Rankin.
It's been over a month since Judge Carmen Mullen was exposed in her attempt to get a man arrested for a crime he didn't commit.

She's still ruling from the bench. They didn't even bother suspending her.
Are we just going to be OK with this behavior in SC??
Judge Mullen is now a controversial figure as a result of her entanglements in the Alexย Murdaugh murders. Independent Journalist Mandy Matney’s ongoing podcastasts about the aristocratic lawyer, turned serial killer, have garnered national attention.
Said Pascoe, speaking on corruption in the state, “Justice delayed is democracy denied.”
“We have to end the intermingling of the judiciary and the legislature,” he added. In South Carolina, legislative lawyers pick our judges. These same lawyers then try cases in front of the very judges they have hand selected. “In S.C., our judiciary is not an independent branch of government,” Pascoe remarked.
Over the next 30 minutes, the solicitor laid out details about the inherent injustices and conflicts in the current system.
Said Pascoe, “An independent judiciary is crucial to our republic and is crucial to our separation of powers.”
Solicitor Pascoe pointed out that Senator Rankin (Horry) and Senator Gerald Malloy (Darlington) both use the Quinn family as their political consultants.
This same Quinn Political Consulting group has been employed by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, S.C. Governor Henry McMaster, S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson, and a host of high profile S.C. legislators. The Quinns were indicted in 2021, however, their political empire continues and is managed by Quinn’s daughter, Rebecca Quinn Mustian.
Senator Luke Rankin is still represented by Rebecca Quinn Mustian.
