Head Principal Janice Christy sent a notification out to all parents about the Myrtle Beach Middle School being on lock down at 9:49 a.m. this morning.
Christy states, “This morning, a student brought a gun into our school. School administration and the MBPD SRO immediately recognized that this child was not following our normal procedures and secured the student.”
She added, “Myrtle Beach Middle School entered a hold and all of our students and staff are safe.“
The student is now being detained by the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Christy says the child will be held accountable for his actions.
