Today begins the High Holy Easter weekend for Christians across America. The buzz around the state, as well as Horry County, is laser focused on a foster child removed from her foster home for accepting Christ as her savior.

Records now clearly show that a 16 year old Horry County Foster Child was removed from her foster home, because of her decision to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The foster parent, Star Obser, streamed her statement of record on Facebook on April 8th.

Afterwards, MyrtleBeachSC News received a response from unofficial DSS channels as to why the child was removed from the home. We fact checked that statement and found it untrue.

The unofficial statement reads: The article about DSS is misleading. The child asked to be moved from the foster home (she’d only been there 3 weeks) and the guardian ad litem agreed she needed to move. The girl (16yo) and her birth parents are Buddhist and the foster parents told her she had to be baptized in order to  stay in their home.

We then reached out to the foster parent, Star Obser and she replied:

Nope – none of that is accurate at all. In fact, I can actually provide you a text message from birth parents saying that they want her returned to my home and that they would like her to be able to go to church. I have video clips that you could shadow where our foster daughter is crying saying she does not want to move and does not want to go. They actually had no contact with her prior to picking her up at school and trying to convince her that she needed to be moved.

TEXTED PERMISSION BY BIRTH PARENT

Translated to English by electronic translator for Foster Mom.

Our readers will note that permission was given on April 2nd. The child was picked up at Socastee High School and removed from the foster home on April 8th.

This was our second time reaching out to DSS State Director, Michael Leach as follows:

I have reached out to you about my concerns on numerous articles we have published only to have you not respond, Examples:

and

You have yet to respond to us on this article as well, yet something in your organization appears to be amiss.

I ask again,  should a foster parent lose custody of a 16 year old child because that child chose to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus?  Is that DSS policy?

Mr. Leach refused to respond to our several requests.
