A candidate for S.C. Governor went after McClatchy owned, The State Newspaper on twitter this week calling the group, “Fake News.”
College of Charleston political scientist Gibbs Knotts told the Charleston Post and Courier, Templeton’s accusations were “pretty astonishing. “It’s rare to use this ‘fake news’ term in a state race.”

The Post and Courier reports: A Rock Hill political operative tweeted after a campaign stop last week that “The Clover/Lake Wylie Republican Women proclaimed @TempletonCath ‘The female Trump.’ ”

Current Governor Henry McMaster, Lt. Governor Kevin Bryant, Yancey McGill, and Catherine Templeton are all vying for a June 12th primary win to be able to run as the Republican candidate in the general election held on November 6, 2018.
