Perhaps you’ve started to notice that your health has taken a dip in recent weeks or months. Maybe your health used to be a crucial priority for you, but recently it’s become less of a priority, with other things taking over, like a hectic job, for instance, leaving you feeling stressed about your health and general wellness.

It’s easy to get yourself into a rut where you feel like your health has become less of a priority than it should be. Hectic schedules and high work and family pressures can mean that making your health and wellbeing a priority isn’t always as easy to do as you might think.

The good news is that if you’ve found yourself in this situation, there are steps that you can take to get things back on track, and put your health at the forefront of your mind (and schedule) once again.

Wondering how you can go about doing that? Below is a guide to all of the ins and outs to prioritising your health. You might also find resources like ‘Wellness Tips For Spring’ useful reading material, for helping to support your journey to enhance health and wellbeing.

Find ways to fit exercise into your routine

Instead of trying to carve out specific time to head to the gym or do a workout class, it might be worth thinking about how you can get more creative with exercise. What you want to do is to find ways that you can fit exercise into your already busy routine. This might mean getting a little creative.

Think about walking or cycling to work instead of driving. Yes, it takes more time but if you’re driving in rush hour, walking or cycling shouldn’t actually take that much longer. Perhaps you could also stand up in meetings or while you’re working use a standing desk, to help boost your fitness and strength levels.

If you want to workout conveniently around your schedule, you might find that workout apps, such as the Fiit app for instance, could work well for you. As these kinds of apps allow you to do classes as and when it’s a good time for you, so there’s no need to worry about fitting them into your schedule at set times.

Make eating better easier

Another important step that you need to take in order to make your health a priority is to find ways to make eating healthier easier. Obviously, when you’re time poor this isn’t always something that’s easy to do, but if you’re smart about it, you can make the process a little easier.

One option is to batch cook your meals once a week and portion them up, ready to eat throughout the week. That way you’re not relying on takeaways and ready meals, which are packed full of unhealthy ingredients and tend to have a high fat content.

Another option is to invest in a slow cooker, so that you can simply chuck all the ingredients into the pot in the morning before work, turn it on, and head out. Then, once you return home you’ll have a healthy, nutritious meal waiting for you.

The truth is that it’s not easy when you feel like your health is on the backburner, but there are steps that you can take to put yourself back in control and to prioritize your wellbeing.
